In fact, tonight I even have two other people to run with - there's safety in numbers! :-)
And Jenny, I totally forgot to mention it in the post, but yeah! I did feel like I was on "What Would You Do?" That is a fascinating show to watch.Mary Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403083611514935619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314837374154681298.post-25529321710962104462010-07-07T15:46:27.761-04:002010-07-07T15:46:27.761-04:00What a terrible situation - and I think everybody ...What a terrible situation - and I think everybody can relate to that feeling, of being scared and not knowing how to handle it and just wishing someone close by would step in and save you. I'm glad you're okay, and the phone idea's a good one!Megan (Best of Fates)http://www.bestoffates.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314837374154681298.post-55064774578749228062010-07-06T19:10:37.252-04:002010-07-06T19:10:37.252-04:00WOW, that is terrible. I would be feeling exactly...WOW, that is terrible. I would be feeling exactly like you--angry, embarrassed, vulnerable ... it just boggles my mind that kids would treat an adult that way. Like Jenny said, imagine what they must do to other kids. Yikes. And it makes me mad that no one else (esp. the men that were there) stepped up to your aid. What has happened to chivalry and men helping a lady in distress?!!

I think carrying your cell phone is a good idea, and definitely call the cops if it happens again. Maybe carry some mace on your keychain or something too (although I'm not sure if you could get in trouble for using it on kids--or threatening to--I have no ideas of the laws on that if there are any). Still not a bad idea to have something like that with you, in any case. My hubby actually has me carry a concealed weapon (I have my permit) in my purse at all times. (Don't worry, I keep it high out of the kids' reach. :)) Sometimes I think he is too paranoid, but in this day and age it is not a bad idea. (Again, not like I would pull it on a kid--unless of course they pulled one on me first. :))

Anyway, I will pray for your safety and that God will give you wisdom on what to do if it ever happens again. Hopefully it won't!!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00159961811540152967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314837374154681298.post-60256456971728582042010-07-06T15:42:45.657-04:002010-07-06T15:42:45.657-04:00Mary Ann, I am so sorry this happened to you. :-(...Mary Ann, I am so sorry this happened to you. :-( I would definitely try to find out where these boys live - maybe turn the tables on them and follow them on YOUR bike and talk to their parents, or call the police! If they are bullying an adult like this, imagine what they are doing to other kids?

The whole time I was reading this I could not help but think of that show, "What Would You Do" that plays on network TV every once in awhile. I cannot believe other people at the track did not step in. CRAZY.

Maybe you could have a special code or something to text to your hubby or a friend to come where you are and follow those kids home.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10160352727815500872noreply@blogger.com
