O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

A Poll Question
I was wondering if my readers would like to weigh in with their opinions, horror stories, happy ending stories, etc. concerning blind dates. Unleash & let me know the good, the bad, and the ugly!
I've been on a couple of blind dates. Both of them I went expecting nothing other than having a good time (and not expecting anything past that). The first date -- The guy drove me crazy. The second blind date ended in a one year relationship.
Ooh, I've never been on a blind date. I think I would be way too chicken. What if I saw him and thought he was not attractive, or too short, or not my type. I'm afraid I would look disappointed and my face is an open book. What if I saw the same look on his face? I would feel bad. When I try to "set people up", I don't arrange "dates," just get-togethers between friends. If there is supposed to be chemistry there, hopefully it will spark and there's not the pressure of being on a date. Just my two cents. Maybe if I wasn't a shy-type I would feel differently. Some people like to hang with new people and consider it an adventure. I'm sure there are people out there who have met on blind dates and been married for 50 years. Michele
I can't relate any personal experience - sorry! I think I would have been too chicken to try it. If I did though, I probably would have preferred if it was with another couple I knew or if it was in a group setting.
I was once set up to meet someone in kind of a group setting thing. Other than that, never has happened. But now I know why you asked that question. So how did it go?
At Northland my sophomore year, I said to Andrea Morrison,"The next guy that walks out of the library is the guy I'm going to marry." A minute later, Brent Belford walked out! No lie :)
By the way, you look great!! I can't believe you run so far! I just sprained my ankle 2 mo. ago and it's still weak. That's my excuse...maybe I should get my bike out!! :)
Everybody - I was surprised so many of you said you would be chicken to go on a blind date! It's fun (in a way) & I kind of feel like there's way less pressure. Maybe it's a low expectations kind of thing. And yes I went on sort of a blind date last Friday. We had spoken on the phone a couple of times. It was fun but nothing earth shattering. He hasn't called & I haven't cried about it. ;-)

Wish I had a story to share with you but I've never been on a blind date!
Do you have one lined up?
