The Top 5

Once upon a time a long time ago, I compiled a list of reasons that I would someday like to be married. Here are The Top 5:

1. It would be nice to have someone to help me make big decisions (like the whole house buying/apartment leasing/condo buying dilemma that I am currently faced with). Having someone to help me make the decision is also handy from the aspect that if something goes wrong, he's there to help share the blame.
2. He could balance the checkbook. I'm no slacker when it comes to personal finances, but once something goes wrong with that crazy little checkbook I can never seem to find my way out. And my patience only lasts about 2 1/2 minutes. So he could take over this little chore with my hearty approval. I wouldn't even check up on him.
3. Vehicle maintenance. Since you understand that I am female, this one necessitates little explanation. I can take the car in for oil changes, tire rotations, and the like but I don't want to deal with anything else. Hence, I now have a personal rule that every vehicle I drive has to be under warranty. Being married could definitely save me money on this one.
4. A dual income. Right now I have a dual income due to the fact that I work two jobs. A dual income is a lot easier to come by when you have two people working. Amen? Amen.
5. Love. Yes, even I can be a little sappy. :-)

Hi Mary Ann,

I don't know if you would remember me because I don't think we had any classes together at Northland although I do remember seeing you around. Weren't you friends with Michal (Scholz) South? I am even thinking you were at her wedding although I may be confusing you with someone else -- that seems like oh so long ago.

Anyway, I saw your comment/link on Alicia's blog and when I saw your picture, I decided to leave a comment. I like your sense of humor in your blogging! The one about hanging the pair of men's pants up cracked me up.

Hey Mary Ann! Yes, we live in Indiana - just south of Indy in Greenwood - where are you at?

I think you have a good 5 reasons - although the car thing isn't necessarily a given :o) My husband has a lot of wonderful strengths, but knowing about cars isn't one of them :o) Although he is very handy in house maintenance!

Sorry for not getting it together to put everything in one comment :o) The other part of my comment is that if and when the Lord brings a man into your life, he will be everything that you don't even know now that you need and want. God is so good to us in that so many times He does not give us what we think we want/need, and yet it is exactly what we do want and need! :o)

Mary Ann!!! Of course I remember you! Thanks for your comment on my blog--I love how I have been able to reconnect w/college friends through blogging. So cool!! I've enjoyed reading through your posts; sounds like you are doing awesome. I'm so glad you have a job you love.

This post made me giggle--especially the part about the checkbook. That's one of my jobs in our family, but it does drive me nuts when I can't get it to balance, which is how it is currently. :) Hopefully I'll figure it out eventually!

Mary Ann...I found you off of Miss Thompson's blog. I don't know if you remember me, but I remembered your smile right away!! :) Your in the medical field too eh?! Well, my goal (if the Lord sees me to stay single:) is to one day work at and become a nurse! But, for now I just do the grunt work in my office. Look me up and give me a shout.

Hey!!! I was at a jewelry party last night and your name came up! Apparently you were thinking of coming - Heidi and Dave Kerr are at our church now, and she said you live where she used to and that you all went to the same church. :o) I could tell she misses you a lot!
