One more little thing...

I know I'm pale. What's a girl to do? It's the middle of winter. Plus, I try to do the responsible thing & use moisturizer with sunscreen. I've been doing this for the past couple of years & my complexion is noticeably fairer, especially in the winter. It annoys me that doing the healthful thing makes me look unhealthy to others (and to myself). So what's the compromise? What do all of you guys do? Sunscreen on your face year round or are you tanning it up?

I'm sure you don't look unhealthy! Don't you know white is the new tan?!? :) Actually I have no idea about that but whenever I see Anne Hathaway's alabaster skin tone I think she looks way more healthy and natural than the other orangey celebs out there.

That said, I did 4-5 evenly spaced out sessions in a tanning bed in prep for our wedding day. That was mostly because our wedding was in August and I didn't want any tacky tan lines.

I use bronzing beads on my face sometimes. I got them from Mary Kay, but just found out they don't sell them any more. Don't know if anyone else has something comparable or not.

Well, I know tanning beds are bad. That being said, I do get a base tan in the beds starting in March/April and try to keep it up. I need to use the 99% burn-free beds because I am so fair. I am so fair that I burn like crazy in the summer if I don't get a tan. I don't keep it up in the fall/winter and early spring. I like fair skin in the winter and I give my skin a break. If you use the 99% burn free beds at Sunfactory, you will have a nice tan(not dark) after about three sessions. These beds are pricey, but worth it. You don't burn and it works pretty quickly.

I know you wrote this a while ago, but I use tanning cream. It works wonders. --otherwise my skin is soooo white. You just have to find one that works for you, but they make them alot better now then they used to.
