Tomatoes

Yeehaw!

My tomato plants are really coming along.

I've already eaten one of the big round ones.  I'll admit that it was a bit crunchy & so not quite ripe but the flavor was ex.cell.ent.  I about fainted from happiness!

Mike thinks I'm crazy.

I almost always pick the first almost but not quite ripe produce. Esp. my strawberries. Enjoy your fresh tomatoes. When it gets close to the time for your last frost just keep an eye on the weather forcast so you can pick all the green tomatoes before the frost kills them. (I know it's hard to think about frost right now in the middle of August, but I wasn't sure whether your first frost came in Sept. or October. Ours usually isn't until November.

Thanks for the advice, Tracy. We don't usually get a frost until October or so but sometimes the weather does some crazy things. I have really enjoyed these hardy little plants & the tomatoes have had really good flavor - such a blessing!

I love tomato season. I still haven't quite figured out how to grow them in this state, but they're doing better than the last two. Yours look lovely.
